Code of Conduct

The Dunham Park Boys Baseball Organization has implemented the following Parent Code of Conduct to ensure and help foster the building of strong kids, strong families and strong communities.

Baseball skill development and healthy lifestyles are emphasized along with values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

While all of the managers, coaches, and parents want to win, we stress fun and sportsmanship over competition. All games and programs are conducted in a safe, supportive and healthy environment. We encourage parental participation, parental cheering and a show of passion for the game. While baseball is a main purpose of our program, we hope to also help build strong relationships throughout the community and amongst each other.

Keeping these goals in mind, it is important for parents to act appropriately while watching the games. We must remember that at the end of the game, we are all friends and a community.

Parents/spectators must respect not only the game, but each other and the other teams as well.

The DBBO Board, Managers, and Coaches each have the goal of not only teaching baseball skills to your children, but help with character-building and ethics in sports.

Sportsmanship consists of six core principles, all of which our baseball community should embrace and show with our actions or inactions:

  • Trustworthiness
  • Respect
  • Responsibility
  • Fairness
  • Caring
  • Good Citizenship

We ask that you, as parents and spectators, who we know care about nothing more than your children, help us embrace and teach these principles.
